La versione 2 raddoppia le dimensioni della libreria rispetto a Ethno e comprende suoni di strumenti, loop e riff. Nuove importanti funzionalità sono state aggiunte, tra cui la ricerca di preset, le scale microtonali, time stretching, e molto altro ancora. Per aiutare gli utenti a trovare rapidamente i suoni in questo enorme libreria di 21 GB, Ethno 2 utilizza un motore di ricerca per regione geografica o per categoria di strumento, e da agli utenti una nuova funzione di ricerca digitando il nome dello strumento o una frase e tutti i preset che conterranno quella frase appariranno immediatamente nel browser. L’utente può ascoltare il suono con un semplice clic, senza dover chiudere il browser, per una veloce anteprima e caricare il preset in un secondo tempo. La versione 2 ora supporta parti illimitate, così gli utenti possono creare rapidamente insiemi di suoni di strumenti, loop e riff, senza limiti di dimensione. MOTU Ethno Instrument versione 2.0 ha i seguenti requisiti di sistema:: 1 GB di RAM minimo. Raccomandati 2 GB. Hard Disk capiente, preferibilmente almeno 100 GB con almeno 21 GB liberi. Una porta USB disponibile per la iLok USB key. Un CD/DVD disk drive per l’installazione. Per Mac OS X: Mac OS X versione 10.4, 10.5, o 10.6; v10.4.11 o successiva è richiesta. PowerPC G4 1 GHz o CPU più veloci (inclusi PowerPC G5 CPUs e tutti i processori Mac Intel). Multi-processor o multi-core PowerMac G5s o Intel processor Macs sono raccomandati. L’hard disk che cotiene la soundbank di Ethno 2 files deve essere formattata come Mac OS Extended (HFS+). Journalling può essere on o off. Per Windows: Windows 7, Vista, o XP; per operazioni native 64-bit, una versione di Windows 7 o Windows Vista 64-bit è richiesta.. Pentium 4 1 GHz o CPU più veloci; Multi-processor o multi-core PCs sono raccomandati. L’hard drive contenente la soundbank Ethno 2 deve essere formattata come NTFS.
